On Bounds + Boundaries | Late Winter 2025
Hi all,
I hope you are bearing through this true winter of season and soul we’ve been having! The former of which seems to be crackling away with longer sunlit days, but the origins of the latter persistently encumber many of our daily lives. In these times when it feels like so much is blasting against us, it can be overwhelming and also unifying in a way that’s deeply comforting and essential. Sticking close together, taking care of each other with nourishing food and hugs and favors on the fly are sometimes all we can do. And honestly, maybe it’s the actual best we can do! I look forward to seeing how community-level generosity, connection, and interdependence continues to create more sustainable routes of support, blizzard or no blizzard!
In maybe an adjacent way, I’ve also been thinking about bodily limitation or restriction as boundary; and specifically, boundary as not a barrier, but more of an embrace that holds you as long and as tight as you need until you feel safe enough to explore more range. Often the immediate response to limitation is frustration, sense of inadequacy, and a narrow belief about possibility for change. I wonder what might be gained if we begin to practice experiencing these restrictions as temporary holding patterns of safety, meeting them with curiosity instead of fear, acceptance without defeat, and respect for the parts of us that know when to slow down and ask for adjustment.
My own body has been feeling this a lot since moving to Cincinnati in August and commuting to YS to see clients 3-4 days a week since then! Driving so many hours per week is something I knew would not be sustainable, but it’s served me well up until now, and I’m finally starting to feel secure enough in the local opportunities available to me to fully shift my time and energy there. So it’s with faith in both the known and unknown that I will be available to provide bodywork full time in Cincinnati beginning in March!
I wholly thank everyone who has been a mentor, a colleague, or client at any point in my nearly 6 years of doing this work in Yellow Springs. Each of you have been foundational to my professional growth, and to receive your trust in holding healing space for you has been an incredibly special pleasure and honor. With gratitude and care, I wish you continued support in all the ways that help you feel most alive, centered, and connected with yourself. <3

NEW OFFERINGS
Visceral Manipulation
In January I began studying towards certification in Visceral
Manipulation with the Barral Institute. This form of bodywork uses
gentle manual therapy to assist normal organ functionality, mobility,
and motility. There are many systems of the body that this supports,
from more obvious gastrointestinal dysfunctions to posture-related
pulls in the visceral connective tissues and ligaments. I will
incorporate this work into sessions as needed, but if you’re curious
about it, feel free to ask questions or schedule a VM session!
Package Discount
I am offering a discounted rate for packages of three 60-90 minute
sessions when paid ahead in cash and used within 6 months. See
package rates below!
$270 ($30 off) for 3x 60-mins
$415 ($35 off) for 3x 90-mins
YS/DYT CLIENT REFERRALS
I wanted to be sure to leave my precious YS clients with good refs for other massage therapists whose work I know and trust. Here they are!

Ocotillo Herbals Tea Blending Workshop
At the end of March my dear colleague and friend, Meghan Henshaw is offering this free class in which attendees will learn how to blend herbal teas, delve into the uses of ten different plants, and blend five different teas to take home. Registration is required and there are two spots left, so follow that link!

White Flower Analgesic Balm Oil
I’ve been using this both personally and with clients lately as an alternative cooling oil to BioFreeze or Tiger Balm. The ingredients are a little more naturopathic and straightforward, as well as having a lighter, less residual greasy sensation on the skin. Above is Wood Lock, a similar option that has fewer additional herbs, but comes in a larger size, so maybe more bang for your buck.

with deepest gratitude,
yours in health,
